Quinn turned THREE last week!! She is SUCH a big girl now. She is independent as ever and so very smart. He favorite things to do right now are reading, drawing, and playing outside. She is now 40” tall (95%!) and 31.4lbs, which is average for her age.
She somehow bypassed her parents’ lack of artistic talent and luckily, seems to have gotten some from her Nanna/Poppop. During our last beach trip her Papa gave her a drawing lesson and she has not stopped since. Her teacher has since hung up 2 of her drawings-- one “elephant” out in the hallway and one “spider” in the science center at school (I was so proud!!). Miss Amy was most impressed at how serious Quinn is with her arts and crafts and couldn’t get over the fact that she put 8 legs on the spider.
Quinn is still super-sweet and she is really doing great with her sister. (Kathryn has developed quite a Mommy syndrome lately-- even gets to the point where she physically tries to remove Quinn from my arms if I am hugging or holding her). Now, that is not to say that Quinn doesn’t throw tantrums here & there (and when she does-- wow, you’d be shocked at what a fit she can throw!) but I think that is par for the course with a 3-year old, right? And you might have noticed a new haircut-- we had to go short since she hasn’t quite kicked her hair twisting habit, so we just keep evening it out.
Quinn is still a ver busy girl but we try to fit in some down-time too. She goes to school Tuesdays & Thursdays. Tuesdays she stays an hour late at school to have lunch with her friends and on Thursday evenings she has dance class for an hour. Most days she will take a 2-hr nap in the afternoon and when she doesn’t nap, she is usually content playing with her buddies & reading (sometimes singing) in her bed.
Nanna, Aunt Laur, and Grampa we sweet enough to join us for Quinn’s birthday weekend and as you will see from the pictures, she was thrilled!
