Quinn slept in her BIG GIRL BED last night!!
She did great! We were a nervous wreck, I slept out in the hallway I was so scared. She woke up a few times to make sure I was still there but went right back to sleep. I was so nervous, we didn't take any pictures but I will take some soon and send them out-- we just wanted to share the good news, we are very proud!!

School update, baby name, Owens got married!!
Quinn is VERY affectionate lately. I went to get her early from school one day this week and the teachers said she had been going around kissing all of the kids in the class-- especially the babies. Her dad was horrified to know that they are ALL (5 of them) boys!! Before we left, she kissed two of them, it was super-cute! She is doing great at school, she gets a little bit of separation anxiety anywhere but school, where she waves bye to me and doesn't come running when I go to pick her up. Her teachers say she is talking now more than the boys (there are 3 that are older). Her new favorite word is now "ouside". Oldies but goodies still include "nack", "ju" (juice), "Elmo", "bubbles", and of course "daaaddddyy"-- if she has all of these things, she is one happy girl!
Baby News: We now have a name for New Baby Driskell! Kathryn Rose. We are thrilled about this name and love that it honors both sides of our family.
Kathryn is a very special name to our family- obviously for for Nana Kat & Aunt Laur (her middle name is Kathryn). Also- Pop Pops Aunt Kathryn- she was very sweet like Pop and also my Dad's Aunt Kate - a very intelligent woman who own an upscale dress shop in Media- I am told she was a no nonsense gall with a mouth to match! My parents loved her very much.
Rose is for Sister (Mary Rose) and my great Aunt Rose. Aunt Rose lived in the house behind mine growing up and she was a huge part of my childhood. Above anything, I remember summer days, telling my mom I was going to happy hour at Aunt Rose & Uncle Sam's. The adults would have their drinks and Aunt Rose would ALWAYS have ice cream for me.
This past weekend we took a road trip to Birmingham to see one of Dean's Auburn friends get married! We since we were in town, we met up with Margaret & Wes for dinner one night. It was great to see them and so much fun to see Maggie & Quinn together. They held hands and shared food through most of dinner. Afterwards, we tried to get a few pictures, but they were not having it-- they were too busy chasing each other up and down the side walk. Here are the few pictures we were able to get:

Too cute!
Quinn had a blast staying at the hotel. She thought she owned the place. She ran everywhere. Up & down the hallways, all around the lobby, it was hard to keep up with her and she wasn't scared to run AWAY from her parents! We took a short trip to the pool, where she practiced blowing bubbles but her favorite part of the hotel was riding the "ella" (elevator).

We did have one incident this weekend... In all of Quinn's running, she took a spill on the bathroom floor of in our room. She hit her mouth pretty hard and we saw some blood. It was terrible, she was crying and Dean and I were about there ourselves... We think she may have chipped a tooth! Quinn was a trooper though, a dose of Motrin later, she was back to normal & charming everyone at the wedding.
The wedding was beautiful, but unfortunately, it was pouring down rain and because of the "tooth incident", we were rushing around and didn't take any pictures!

Bye-Bye Nursery, Fun at the Park, & Gardening
Quinn woke up giggling with Doggie on Saturday morning, so I took the opportunity to snap a few pictures of her in her crib before she moves on to her Big Girl Room!

And on Saturdays we don't go down for breakfast without first waking up Daddy...

Next up, we headed to the park for some play time!

On Sunday, we had some more fun planting flowers and doing yard work...

And on Sunday night we took a 25 Week Belly picture!

Dr. Appointments and a new toy
Well this week started off at the 24 week mark for the new baby-- a part of me can't believe how quickly 6 months has gone by and the other part can't believe we have to wait 4 more months to officially meet our new little girl! The Dr said all is looking great at our last appointment and I think we have plenty to keep us busy until she gets here! We will try to take a belly picture this weekend.
Another something that is hard to believe: last week Quinn hit the year and a half mark! She had her 18M doctor's appointment this morning and we got another great report! She is up to 33", 24.075lbs & HC=47. We have been busy since last weekend getting her big girl room ready. Godsey was sweet enough to help Dean move everything last weekend and last night Dean put her new bookshelves together. I wish I had my camera out, it was so cute--Quinn kept trying to help Dean every step of the way. We are trying to spend a little time in there every day decorating, moving toys & clothes and just getting Quinn acquainted with the room-- so far, she is loving it but Dean and I are pretty nervous for this change.
Here are a couple of quick pictures I took of Quinn playing in the cabinets this past weekend.

And one more notable incident...
So, we were having a rough time with lunch the other day and to encourage our little vegetarian to eat her chicken, I thought I'd pull out the booster seat to make it more fun. Of course, she follows me wherever I go, so she also saw the potty box in the closet that I was saving for Christmas. She insisted that we got it out and immediately wanted to try it. We put it in the powder room and within 5 minutes, she went! I was sooo proud!! She got a sticker, 2 animal cookies and lots of hugs & kisses as a reward. Since then, she has gone a few more times, and we are just amazed!
We weren't planning to start potty training until after the baby got here, so this was a complete shock! I'm still not sure we are ready yet, so we are going to let Quinn lead the way on this one and see how it goes! And I'm sorry punkin, this was just too cute not to post-- love you!

ZOO ATL
The Barr girls invited us to go to the Zoo with them and some of their neighborhood friends today! The Zoo was chaotic (spring break here in Fulton County), and I was thankful that Quinn stayed peacefully in her stroller for most of the adventure! It was a beautiful day, sunny and WARM-- when we got in the car to head home, the thermostat said 87 degrees--where did spring go?!
As you'll see, we had a great time and we were all worn out come the end of the visit. Here are a couple of quick pictures from our trip....
And Quinn's favorite part-- you guessed it, the petting zoo!!
Thanks for the invite girls, we had a blast!!

Happy Easter!
We had a WONDERFUL Easter weekend!!
Quinn and I started off the weekend with a visit to the Perez house. Louis, Christine and their two beautiful daughters were in town for the week, and it was so nice to see them-- it is hard to believe how quick they are growing up! Bethany & Lucy cooked up a very yummy brunch and after eating, the girls went outside to play. Quinn was extra shy, but she eventually warmed up to the girls!
How CUTE are these two?!

Hugs!

After her nap, we played outside with Daddy

And the next morning...the Easter Bunny came!!

Quinn loved all of her gifts from the bunny (and Nana Q)

After a busy morning, we headed off to brunch with Kelly and the Verdigets

We went to the Ritz, and to Quinn's amazement they had a petting zoo set up!

Blair wasn't so thrilled...

But she warmed up quickly once we moved away from the animals!

We tried to get the girls to pose together...they weren't really into it...

but did give kisses!

Poor Shawn had to work on Easter!! We were sad not to spend the day with him, but very glad Kelly still came out! Quinn was THRILLED to see Kelly. After brunch, she didn't want to leave with Mom & Dad-- she was clinging to Kelly!

The set-up was amazing and the food was wonderful!

YUM, Quinn (like her Mommy) ate and ate, but enjoyed desert the most!!

We also got to visit with the Easter Bunny. Quinn couldn't wait, Blair was a little nervous (can't say that I blame her though!)

And when we got home, we took a 23 week belly picture-- I can't believe how quickly this pregnancy is going, just 17 short weeks to go!!

After Quinn's nap, Daddy dressed Quinn up in her beach attire and we played with the Easter Bunny gifts. She did NOT want to take off her sunglasses and her new favorite word is BUBBLES!!

And Quinn had one last surprise-- an Easter gift from her buddy Blair-- and how did she know exactly what would make Quinn happy?!

We had a great Easter, thanks Tara for organizing!!
