happy 3rd Birthday Kathryn!

better late than never, right?!

Our sweet baby Kathryn turned 3 at the end of July!! I still can't believe it!! We had a wonderful birthday weekend, Nana, Aunt Laur, & Bampa all came to join in on the celebrations!  I've give a quick little update on my peanut & then show you the pics of our fun times ;)

Kathryn is now 34.5" tall (10%) & 38# (45%), she has grown SO much since her last birthday.

She is really starting to come out of her shell.  In fact, when we are out together in public- people usually peg her as the outgoing one and Quinn as the shy one! She is still a little reserved in school but is becoming braver by the day.

Kathryn is SO SWEET.  She is just genuinely happy to be a part of things, and grateful for everything. "Mommy, thank you for washing my tutu!"She is also a great cheerleader, and is always happy for others "Great Job Quinn!" (at tennis).  Mommy, I love your new nail polish.  Mommy, I love your dress, can I wear that one day when I grow big?"

BUT at the same time, she is learning to stand up for herself and no longer always lets big sis get her way.  She has learned to push Quinn's buttons when she wants.  And she also has had a slight issue with eating non-edible objects...lately she loves tormenting Quinn like this:

Quinn: Kathryn, can I have that toy?
Kathryn: Only if you pay me money first (no clue where she gets this!)
Quinn: here is some (pretend/invisible) money
Kathryn: Now I ate it, I need more money if you want the toy!!

Happy Birthday Sweet Pea!! We love you SO very much!

Kathryn was SO Proud to be sporting her very own, new night gown.  Bethany brought it to her for her bday and got the perfect size, Kathryn is not happy unless they are long & touching her toes!! Bedtime is not complete without a fancy night gown, pink snuggly doggie, and princess sophia!

out shopping with mommy before the visitors got here

Nana MUST make pancakes while she is here, Quinn wouldn't have it any other way!

Kathryn's new best friend.  This Cinderella is bigger than her! But KK drags her around the house, singing the shalaka do song from the movie, sometimes she will get her up into bed & snuggle at rest time

we had a very low key party this year, just invited a few friends Kathryn's age and Quinn's besties and had a wonderful pool day!

how great is it to have a Nana who is an artist?!

cute friends!
happy birthday!!

Bampa & Aunt Laur were mysteriously missing from the pool pictures, but they know I won't let it go for an entire visit ;)

Not much Nana, Aunt Laur & I love better than a shopping trip!  And check out my sister here,  would you guess is is about 6/7 months preggo in this pic?!

fuzzy pic but here was our attempt at a picnic dinner- lasted about 30 seconds before we moved to a table ;)

we love you baby cousin!! can't wait to meet you!!

love our nana

aunt laur stayed for a few extra days to get some facetime with the girls, it's hard to compete with Nana for attention!

soccer camp

here are some pictures of the girls' first soccer camp.  It was right in the middle of the summer, and it was HOT!! but the girls loved it! Kathryn was the youngest camper and the coaches were so impressed.  Every day at pickup they told me how they couldn't believe how well she could keep up with the big kids! Both Quinn & Kathryn did great and can't wait until they can play soccer again!

Kathryn was thrilled to wear big girl cleats
first day!!

Ellie was at camp too-- she & Kathryn loved holding hands

bringing mommy a flower

Quinn insisted on bringing her fancy nancy fan every day-- can't blame her, it was REALLY hot!!

summer part I

well, I easily let the summer fly by without many updates!  School's back in session and Fall is just about here, so I figure I'd better start updating now before I completely forget what happened this summer!! Here are just a few pics to show you what we have been up to ;)

LOTS of pool time & popsicles, QT with our Blair
Quinn took a few tennis lessons

lots of relaxing

fun walks

Quinn ditched the swimmies-- she can swim like a pro now!!

MANY dinners by the pool
Kathryn's first time at camp

the Driskells came for a visit!!

just LOVE these girls-- how sweet ;)

we took a little road trip to the Ritz @ Reynolds Plantation

Quinnie Quinn was SO sleepy in this pic- I have to tell this story-- out of everything going on for this entire trip, she was most looking forward to roasting the marshmallows.  We were rained out the first night, but made sure to get there the second, even though she was EXHAUSTED... She was so happy with her marshmallows, until Mommy came along and RUINED them, by smushing them in between gram crackers with chocolate! What was I thinking?!!! Wow, she cried and cried, poor baby was so upset.  Daddy saved the day by letting her roast a few more, and she finally understood once she tasted my Smores!
Love this pic! I didn't bring my camera on this trip, so I borrowed this from Tara.  Not sure how she manages to ALWAYS get the best pictures when she has so much going on, but I'm lucky she does!
here are the rest of her pics from the trip:
