If you read the last post, you know about Quinn's stitches.... Well, the morning that she ended up with the stitches was her first day of "school". She just started in the toddler group at preschool through St. Thomas Acquinas (the Catholic Church, less than a minute from our house). She will be going two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 - 12:30.
So far, it looks to be a great program, it is very organized and the teachers are wonderful. On Monday, we went to a meet & great so that Quinn could spend some time getting to know her teachers and new friends. Afterwards, we went out the the playground, here are a few pictures:
And how could I not take a zillion pictures on her first day?!
| posing with her sister before we left, the teachers said she talked about Kathryn all day long. When they asked her what her name was at the meet and greet, her first answer was Kathryn. Too funny, she does that a lot these days, you can ask her how old she is and sometimes she will say Kathryn--just loves talking about her little sister! |
| getting ready to go, she wanted to take all of her bags with her |
| As if you had any doubt, I will be taking one of these pictures every year, if the girls like it or not. (Girls- I am passing down the torture from Nana Quinn, you can complain to her ;) |
| She LOVED her new backpack |
| I tried to stay and take a few pictures, she wanted nothing to do with me. |
| She did cry a little when she realized I was leaving, but I stayed outside the door and it didn't last more than a few seconds! |
| Seems like yesterday that we were taking pictures outside of these doors for her baptism... made me tear up a little thinking about how fast time is going by... |

And here we are on the way home (yes, she took doggie-- just in case), pretty worn out, but she had a great time!
It sounds like Quinn is already loving her new school. She has been telling me nonstop how she "obeyed her teachers" (we had a talk about this on the way to school). And she keeps talking about her "new friends". And I probably shouldn't draw attention to this and wouldn't do it around her, but she keeps telling me about the "cry babies" in her class. She came up with this (or is repeating it from somewhere?) talking about Kathryn. When she says it, I just say back, "yes, the baby is crying", hoping she would loose the term. But, I guess some of the kids cried during class, missing their mommies...
The teachers sound like they have it together, she will have "movement" (gym) class once a week, as well as music/bible class, they will also play on the playground when the weather permits and do arts and crafts every week. I'm so excited for Quinn, sounds like she will have a great school year! |
