Happy Birthday Daddy!!

As I'm sure you can guess, Dean is nearly impossible to shop for.  We can usually come up with a few odds & ends but anything he really wants, he just buys himself.  I asked Quinn for suggestions a few weeks ago & she was determined to get him a cake with a prince on it.

So, we got on the phone with our favorite bakery and ordered one, we even went online & picked out a prince picture that we wanted on it.  And then Quinn drew a picture of her Daddy and was so proud of it, that we HAD to change the cake design ;)

We let Dean sleep in on his birthday but just had to reveal all of our little surprises as soon as he woke up.  We spent the day relaxing & playing at the pool, and even let him escape for a little while to hit golf balls ;)

two layers of key lime cake and the filling was key lime buttercream. icing was swiss vanilla buttercream with white chocolate curls-- and Quinn was pleased to know her drawing was printed in sugar & completely edible--YUMMY!!

for some reason, I just love this one (sorry sweetie ;) I think he was just tired of my camera in his face!

LOVE YOU SWEETIE & hope you had a wonderful birthday!!

Happy 4th!

Happy Independence Day!!
We are still keeping ourselves busy as can be, here are some of our pictures.  On the 3rd we met up with some friends at a local park & decorated bikes for a kid parade.  As you can imagine, Quinn was in arts & crafts heaven ;)

Happy 4th, girls were thrilled to play with the "decorations"
here we are at the Perez's on the 4th.  Juan & Bethany drove the girls down for a long weekend

Dairy Farm Visit

Still a little behind, but here are some pictures of our visit to Cagle's Dairy Farm.  We took a tour of the farm, visited with the animals, went on a hay ride, visited & fed the animals, had a lesson on how they herd the animals, AND saw how milk is made! It was a fun, busy, & HOT morning on the farm!

ever since Kathryn's gymnastics class, they are both obsessed with walking on "beams"

so much for a group pic in front of the sign!

Kathryn just wanted to hug him

not a big fan of sitting on the scratchy hay!

Playtime with the Driskells

The Driskell family recently came for a visit, and I think it goes without saying, but what FUN we had!!  We all know Quinn has had an Audrey obsession for a while now.... Kathryn's new favorite question is now "Mal go?" (Where did Mal go??) These girls are so sweet & such a pleasure to be around--what great role models! We wish we could see family more often but I'm so grateful when we do get to spend time together...

here we are out to dinner, for some reason they had airplane seats in the waiting area...the girls were pretending to fly to Tulsa ;)
ice cream after dinner

Mal is big into taking pictures-- she took this one with my iphone, I think I'll be handing over my camera soon!

here we are the next day... after a late night out, we had some sleepy girls!!

Poppy & I loaded the big girls into her shiny new minivan & headed out for a field trip to the aquarium

Quinn had so many favorites, I tried to include most of them!

lunch break

here they are touching sting rays. thank goodness I was on picture duty, I was practically having a panic attack! Luckily, they had Poppy there, she is so good with the girls & a great teacher!!
ice cream break
more ice cream ;)
on the way to see the Dolphin show
I'm not sure I will ever forget how excited Audrey was-- we weren't sure we were going to make it to the dolphin show and I was thrilled for her when we got there.  She is SUCH the nature/animal lover.  I sat next to her before the show and she was trying so hard to be patient before it started, she literally asked me the time every minute until it showtime.  I don't think she stopped smiling once during the show;)

what fun!!
when we got home, Dean & Brian had dinner ready & after we played outside
future babysitter ;)
just for Bampa, here they are playing "froggie"
rommies for the night, except for Kathryn! This is the first time Quinn has been able to share a room with anyone aside from Kathryn... we weren't sure she was ever going to fall asleep!

arts & crafts
pancakes before they headed home

SOOO much fun, thanks Brian & Poppy for making the trip-- hopefully we will see you again soon!!
