School Days & Swim Lessons!

Quinn has had such a busy week and it isn't even over yet!

On Tuesday, she had class pictures at her school, and how could we not take a few pictures before we left?!


This is one of her new favorite things to do.  She takes an "inventory" of her toys, takes them all out of her toy basket and places them all in piles- on the coffee table, in a pile on the floor, or on top of Mommy &/or Daddy.


And of course, her new favorite buddy, ELMO!!


He is a "Tickle Me Elmo", and is a little hard for her to tickle, so it always seems like she is giving him CPR, but she is really just trying to get him to laugh!


Next up, on Wednesday we started Swim Lessons!!
Quinn loved getting changed in the locker room, she said "hi" to EVERYONE in there, like they were old friends and she had to check out each of the lockers


When we went out to the pool, she was not intimidated at all.  I barely had time to get a few quick shots!



The instructor said Quinn did excellent for her first class!  She was not scared-- she actually wanted to go to the deep end (the ladies were doing a water aerobics class & she wanted to go see them;).
She understood kicking on her first try and loved that!
Blowing bubbles was a little more tricky.  At first, she kept trying to drink the water, kind of like a puppy dog!  But she started getting the hang of it towards the end of the class-- we will have to keep practicing that though!
And last but not least, we went under water!  I couldn't believe it and I was sooo proud of her.  She wasn't too found of going under, but she didn't complain either.  All in all, she had a great time and WOW, did she take a great nap later that afternoon!

Today, we had her Easter Egg Hunt and party at school.  Since it was so close to Easter, we didn't want to chance wearing her Easter dress, so she wore her "spring gift" from Juan and Bethany-- so cute!

It took her a while to get the hang of things.  She kept treating the eggs like balls--instead of putting them in her bucket, she would pick them up & throw them!

The "babies" got to go out first, and she got a little intimidated when the "big kids" started to come

YUM! the eggs were stuffed with animal crackers and goldfish!


What a great week-- we are all exhausted and it is only Thursday!!

Steph & Tim got Married!!

Well, I just got back from my first weekend away from Quinn.  Up until this weekend, the longest we had parted was the WVU/AU game!

Dean and Quinn had a wonderful Father/Daughter Weekend-- they did lots of bonding and playing.  Dean even took Quinn to the store to buy her a treat for being so good.... her first ELMO!  Right after they bought it, Dean called to tell me it may have been a mistake, he was worried Quinn might love Elmo more than us!!

Meanwhile, I went to Morgantown for Steph's wedding!  I had a blast trying to keep up with my old roomies!  I miss them so much, but luckily we all try to get together a few times throughout the year!

We won! and what a great wedding weekend!

I had a blast, but boy am I tired!! I'm very glad to be home and I was sooo excited to see my sweetie & pumpkin-- I missed them sooo much!!

March

We've had a busy March so far!!

Let's start with the baby--she is doing great! I can feel her kicking up a storm now, very active in the mornings and afternoons...Last week I had my 20 week appointment for Baby Driskell.  She is measuring just as she should and the doc says all looks great! Here are the pictures...

My stomach has popped out and she is starting to show now.  This is at 21 weeks:

Quinn has also been a very busy girl this month!  She was introduced to bubbles in the bathtub...She goes through phases where she doesn't like the bath, but overall she loves it.  She gets her own washcloth and loves showing off-- she is so proud to wash her own feet and belly!

We also went to a "petting zoo" outside of one of the local toy stores-- she had a blast!

And along the animal theme, Quinn got dressed up and took pictures with some bunnies!

Destin Weekend 2010

Well, 2 days after what we are praying was the last Atlanta snow of the season, we packed up and headed out to Nana Kat's for a long weekend in Destin!  Dean & I were terrified at the thought of a long car ride since Quinn has been refusing to nap in the car, but she did fabulous, despite what we believe is a new tooth on its way.

We had a great time, just playing around...




We took a trip to Sandestin for dinner at Acme

Nana Kat treated Quinn to a trip to Build-A-Bear



And we even got to take a little trip to the beach!











as you can probably tell from our clothing, it was still a little chilly for the beach, but it was a beautiful day!


and there were quite a few other people out taking advantage of the nice weather


After the beach we went back to playing with the puppies, eating LOTS of yummy food (thanks, of course to Nana Kat), and enjoying a gorgeous view
