surprise!

Well, if you don't know too much about my mom, you probably still know that she absolutely loves (& rarely passes up on) a good deal.  So when she found out about a cheap flight to Atlanta, she was signed up the same day! Since she was coming so quickly, I was able to keep the trip a secret from the girls (when Quinn knows about visitors, she starts loosing sleep about a week in advance, she gets sooo excited;) 

We headed out the door, on our way to Ellie's birthday party, and I "happened" to make a quick stop by the airport.  I told Quinn, "let's just drive by & see if we see anyone we know".  Sure enough, Nana came running up to the car.  Quinn was speechless! We had a blast and the girls barely left Nana's side all weekend

happy 2nd birthday Kathryn!!

I can't believe our sweet little Kathryn is already TWO YEARS OLD!! she is such a sweetie pie and a joy to be around.  she is still a talker, will repeat anything you ask her to and is communicating mostly in broken sentences.  some phrases we hear a lot are:

- " do that too?" (usually when she sees something fun on tv)

- "come on mommy (or sis), follow me!"

-"i a big girl now"

- "I DO IT!"

"big bad woof, blow!"

"awwe, man"!

"how much is dat doggie in window" (i think she is practicing for aunt chrissy;)

- and my personal favorite: "mommy beautiful"

Kathryn loves to dress up (lately, it has been in her sister's swimsuits ), jump & dance.  she talks about "gymnastics"all of the time and can climb up & down the stairs all by herself (although down the stairs is usually a struggle, she spends most of the trip swatting my hand away and saying "no, i do it self!";) She can count to 3 and sometimes she'll even throw a 4 in there.  

Kathryn is still a great sleeper.  we can put her down anywhere between 7-8 (usually 730).  sometimes i hear her playing in the middle of the night, but overall she sleeps great and is usually the last one up, around 830! she naps great too, around 130-330. 

She is still in her big girl undies, although we had a little regression after Tulsa, it seems she just about back on track!

Kathryn just went to the dr for her check-up & here are her latest stats: Weight- 23.1lbs (10th percentile); height 33" (25%); Head circumference 18.25" (25%)

we had Kathryn's birthday party in Tulsa this year, but we of course had to celebrate again on her "REAL birthday", as Quinn kept reminding us.  Bampa made the trip to celebrate with us and the girls had a blast with him.  Quinn literally tried to follow every step he took, for the entire weekend ;) Here are some of our pictures:

Tulsa visit

Papa took Quinn on lots of adventures throughout the week.  They went to feed the ducks, he bought her a pink fishing rod to go fishing, they had a picnic, saw the helicopter,  went to breakfast...
