Visit with Nana Kat

Last weekend we went for a long weekend to the beach to visit with Nana Kat.  We stopped on the way down to have lunch with Bampa and to have a visit with our “new friends” The Cody’s.  Colonial & Mrs Cody are the girls’ Great Great Aunt & Uncle and we were so blessed to be able to finally spend some time with them!  Unfortunately, I was not thinking while we packed my car and the camera was buried too far under the luggage to take pictures.... Mrs Cody was sweet enough to mail me this picture of them a week before our visit (from 2010), aren’t they so cute?!

After 9.5 hours, we finally made it to Nana Kat’s house and boy did we have fun!  The girls had a blast with Nana Kat, the doggies & the beach.  Here are some of the pictures of the weekend:

This is how Quinn spent most of her weekend...She just loves her Flossie!
Gotta love Nana Kat’s back yard!

And thanks to Mommy forgetting to pack her seat, this is how Kathryn spent most of her weekend... but you know her, she didn’t complain!

Kathryn's Baptism

Kathryn’s baptism was this past weekend.  It was perfect weather (77 & sunny ;) and we had a great time all around.  Unfortunately, Quinn came down with a fever virus just in time for the festivities, but she was a trooper and it didn’t seem to slow her down too much!
The girls are doing great these days, they still love each other as their favorite “toy”! Kathryn is showing a lot of interest in crawling but she is not quite there yet.  Her knees are constantly red from rocking on them, so I’m sure she’ll get there soon! She is also doing great with eating-- her favorites are bananas & pees but she also eats chicken, rices, oatmeal, peaches, apples squash, sweet potatoes, and probably a few more that I can’t remember right now.
Thanks to all of our family & friends who were here to celebrate with us, both in person & spirit.  Not sure what we would do without your love & support. Here are some of the pictures from the weekend!

Happy Valentines Day!

Here are some pictures of our little Valentines... I only tried a few, I was having no luck getting them to sit still...Quinn was just too excited about going to Blair’s house...

We went to Blair’s house to decorate cookies. YUUMM!

But the real hit was Blair’s Valentine treat from her Mommy & Daddy...

Kathryn had fun at home bonding with Daddy...

Here are the girls in their Valentines Ts from Nana

Quinn is not thrilled about Kathryn sitting up.  She likes to hold Kathryn for pictures..
And a couple of Valentine’s treats...

Quinn has been asking for her own umbrella for months now.  Not that I use one (I haven’t figured out how to juggle both girls & an umbrella, so when it rains, we use hoods... and run)! But most of the kids in her school have one and she always wants to try theirs when it is raining out.  To say she was excited would be an understatement (nothing like a good accessory for Quinn AND it has Tinker Bell on it?!) Now, she is just waiting for it to rain!

Fun at home

We have been having so much fun at home lately. Kathryn and Quinn enjoy each other so much, it makes life at home such a blessing. I love that it is rare for us to be in a hurry to go anywhere, it makes it easy to appreciate the little things. I happened to have my camera upstairs the other day and was able to catch a few of our fun times.

It seems like the girls’ favorite time of the day is waking up, in the morning or from naptime. Whoever is up first gets to go in and wake up the other. If Quinn and I go in together to get Kathryn, you can hear Kathryn giggling as soon as she knows we are on our way. Quinn has her own step stool at the end of the Crib, so she can run right in to see her sister. And if Kathryn & I go into Quinn’s room, Quinn loves to have Kathryn lay in bed with her for a little while. Quinn tucks her in and lets her take turns holding each of her buddies. “See Kathryn, this is Big Bird, and this is Doggie...”

And Quinn has a new favorite hobby. She LOVES exploring in my closet. She tries on all of my shoes, and as much as I don’t like my closet being destroyed on a daily basis, it is just to cute to say no to. And, to Dean’s dismay, she has also recently realized that Daddy’s closet is pretty fun too!

But don’t worry, Quinn hasn’t forgotten her tutu yet. And as you can see, it is a wreck. She insists on wearing it 80% of the time that we are home and is not happy with me when I try to wash it....

All about Kathryn

Well, it has taken six months, but here it is, a post ONLY about our sweet Kathryn. I can’t believe Laur hasn’t gotten on me to do this ; ) Well, here she is-- our SIX MONTH OLD baby. I can’t believe it, and I know everyone says this, but time just flew by. While I’m excited for each new stage, I am so not ready for her to grow up yet!

She is doing wonderful, and just may very well be the easiest baby in the world. She is so sweet, and so easy going. She still sleeps great but doesn’t complain if she misses a nap while I make her run errands with me. She loves to laugh and her favorite toys remain her Sophie, her Moose, and most of all, she loves her big sister. She loves to play in her jumpy seat and likes to sit in her high chair and play while the rest of the family eats. Bathtime still makes her giggle and she loves when we all sit on the bed and read stories together before bedtime.

We went to her six month checkup with Dr Smith this week and he gave her a great report! She is in the 65% for all of her stats: 12lbs, 2oz; 26” tall and her head is 42cm. He gave her the all clear to start eating and recommended plain yogurt as one of her first meals (of course, pictures are below!)

Here are some recent pictures of our sweetie pie...
Can you believe we have already raised the seat for her jumper 2 times?!

Ok, so here it is, her first taste of yogurt....step by step
hmmm... not quite worth the wait, hu sweetie pie?!
Next up, maybe we’ll try something a little more tasty... Happy 1/2 Birthday Kathryn, we love you!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Kathryn! Before long you are going to be holding Blair instead of her holding you! You have grown up TOO fast!
