Disney Day #2

Much to our relief, everyone slept great in our hotel the first night.  We were staying at the Contemporary, so Quinn took the cot and Kathryn had a Queen all to herself.  Another nice thing about the Contemporary is that there is a Character breakfast in the hotel.  We rolled out of bed a few minutes before 7 and made it with minutes to spare to our 7:15 reservation at Chef Mickey's.  Kathryn's Minnie Mouse obsession is pretty much behind her and we don't really watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse these days but I booked the reservation anyway... maybe more for myself ;) I remember all of our Disney trips with MomMom, I LOVED breakfast with the characters!  We were not disappointed, the girls had a blast!

After breakfast we walked over to the Magic Kingdom-- we quickly figured out that the best game plan was to walk to the MK and take the monorail back to the hotel.  MK is the 3rd monorail stop from Contemporary, so it is quicker to make the couple-minute walk over there but Contemporary is the first monorail stop on the way back (plus the girls thought of it as another ride, they would get excited to ride it every night ;).  We made it to Magic Kingdom in just enough time to see the opening ceremony-- very sweet, so glad Tara recommended this to us!!  We rode a ton of rides that morning and again had great luck, no lines!

After lunch we headed back to the hotel for a little rest before hitting the Boppity Boppity Boutique, which I believe was one of the main highlights for the girls on the trip-- who wouldn't love being turned into a princess?!  And last we went to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party.  We had fun at the party but once it started, the crowds showed up-- the lines for candy were longer than the lines we had waited in all day for the rides! So we used the time to ride a few more rides, caught some of the parade on the way out, and headed back to the hotel for the Duffy the Bear Show before bedtime.

watching the opening ceremony

and  over night that the entire Magic Kingdom was decked out for Halloween! Amazing how it happens so fast!

happy dance... it was like we had the castle all to ourselves!

Ariel WITH fins!

our first of MANY Dumbo rides-- we had watched the movie right before we left for the trip and this ride was just Kathryn's speed-- she LOVED it!

riding the train

another highlight of the trip-- Cinderella's fairy Godmother sang to Kathryn!  Kathryn is obsessed with Cinderella, she watches the movie all of the time and reads at least 1 cinderella book a day.  Her favorite part is when the Fairy Godmother is turning her into a princess and her favorite song is the Bippity Boppity song.  I mentioned to the FGM that she is one of Kathryn's favorites, and next thing we knew, they were having a private moment : "Salagadoola mechicicka boola, Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, Put 'em together and what have you got, Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo".  I don't believe I will ever forget the look on Kathryn's face ;)
Terrance, one of Tinker Belle's Buddies

loved the jungle cruise! Kathryn's mouth was like this the entire ride!

The girl's first roller coaster!  Quinn fell in love! She rode this twice and would have all day if we let her!!
Tea cups.... again!  We figured out the way to do this is to let the speedsters take their own cup and Kathryn & I would take one and go nice & slow!  (Another one Quinn would ride all day long if she could!)
here we are at the Bippity Boppity Boutique

Kathryn was so calm while they were doing her makeup & telling her stories, I kept thinking she might be asleep!

oh, the hair... the gel... the spray.... Quinn was thrilled!!

getting ready for the big reveal

so excited!!! She was so proud of her long hair ;)

practicing her princess wave

Quinn & Dean road this one at sunset! beautiful!!

Here is Kathryn while we were watching Quinn & Dean on the race cars.  She kept asking to go on the big rides and then backing out last minute-- (not sure if it was all nerves or part not wanting to mess up her princess outfit ;) we had fun watching though!

just a quick shot of the girls exhausted and trick or treating... this is the only candy stop we made-- it was probably a 10 minute line for a couple pieces of candy??!

But a GREAT DAY over all and we made it back & had the girls in bed before the fireworks! Day 2, a success!
