FOUR

I CANNOT BELIEVE MY BABY IS FOUR! She is growing up way too fast and the past year has gone quicker than ever.  I don't even know where to begin with her updates....

She is still tall & thin 41 3/4"in height (90th percentile) and 36 lbs (55-60th percent)

she is very bight and has a great sense of humor, here are a few sentences from a recent email her teacher sent to me:
I have been so impressed with her artistic talent. When we attempt any type of drawing project, she embraces it with such enthusiasm. Today we made spiders out of the number 8. She was the first one to figure out how to draw the legs coming from the body and she kept double checking to make sure she had exactly eight legs. She is so bright and just a sponge soaking in all we talk about at school.

Quinn absolutely adores Miss Jenny & loves going to school. She is big on her girlfriends and really misses her friend Rylee (they are in different classes this year). She loves art time, story time and she especially loves it when they have cooking time.  One of her favorite things to do is "swing really fast on the tire swing"; although, I think she really just likes watching my face cringe at the thought ;) This year they are rotating "jobs" through the classroom and for the first two weeks, Quinn could not wait for a job.  She really wanted to be the Weather Watcher. She waited so patiently, she had a few "labor days", she was Door Holder, Line Leader, Veterinarian, and finally, just this past week she was Weather Watcher-- she was thrilled!!

Unfortunately, I think Quinn has given up on the naps completely, but still usually has a 1.5 hr "rest time" in her room while Kathryn is napping. She usually reads books or works on an art project-- I usually beg her to rest a little and it is not unusual to hear a little song & dance routine through the monitor.  She typically goes to bed around 7:30 and wakes up around 7:15.  She still has her sun/moon clock and she very proudly comes downstairs on her own after the sun comes up. Quinn has gone through phases when she wakes up with nightmares (the last batch were about spiders in her bed) but she hasn't had one for the past two weeks...praying we move quickly past that stage!

Overall, our Quinnie Quinn is such a sweet girl. She is happiest in the mornings, is a GREAT eater, loves to play, and some days she will talk nonstop, all day long ;) She has been in gymnastics for the past few months and liked it but has really missed dance class, so we are transitioning back into that and will not sign up for gymnastics again in the winter session.  She also really wants to play tennis, so we may look into that this spring, if she is still interested!  Quinn seems to be leaving (most of) the tantrums behind her and she usually tries hard to be a good big sister.  Sometimes it is tough on her-- Kathryn wants to do the same as & play with everything Quinn does-- she just adores her "Quinnie".  But on most days, Quinn will take some time to make sure she shares and plays with Kathryn, "teaching" her the ropes.

Here are a couple of pictures from our big girl's birthday with her mini cake and also with her "big gift".  She really wanted a "work station" for her room to help her with her rest time art projects.  She is beyond thrilled with her desk-- she could sit there for hours ;)
