Happy Easter!

here are some of our Easter Pictures! It was a rainy day, but that didn't stop us from having lots of fun! We woke up to an egg hunt and Easter treats thanks to the Easter Bunny, headed off to church and after a nice rest, we headed out for some more Easter fun

no joke-- this is how we woke up Easter morning, I think someone is still in the wrong season here!

on our way to church

the Easter bunny showed up for the egg hunt!!

the girls were in 2 different age groups for the egg hunt.  Kathryn was so cute, she kept stopping to smile & wave at the Easter Bunny

Quinn was so excited that the big kids got to "go into the woods" to look for the eggs.  She's not big on posing for pictures these days, so I really have to chase after her, or just take them when she's not looking ;)

Kathryn was SO excited to see the animals!

and top it all off with make-your-own sundaes!!

shew, what a day!! here we are, bellies extra full, getting ready for bed with their  "sparkly bunny" PJs ;)

Spring is here!!

I haven't updated this blog in so long!!  here I go, I'll give you a quick update!
The Mommies were invited to go to Kathryn's music class to watch them sing :) how cute these little 2-yr olds are!! She is sitting right next to Ella, who was in gymnastics with Kathryn earlier this year.

Kathryn is SO shy at school! She participates, but VERY quietly, so funny because she isn't like that at home!

Kathryn was Preschool Student of the Week, she was so proud!

and we had a little trip to emergency med-- apparently, Kathryn had something called Nurse Maid's Elbow-- never heard of it until now but she had to have her elbow popped back into the socket-- poor baby! it was painful but nothing a pink popsicle couldn't fix.  she spent the next few days trying to convince me she needed to go back..

here she is, recovered. in her bathing suit tutu having fun "waiting for the tornado".

a little spring shopping

so glad I was able to take this-- such silly gooses. trying to convince me they could fit to sleep in the same bed

and I had my 25th ;) birthday this year-- happy birthday to mommy! we celebrated with giant cupcakes and lots of fun!

here is Quinn's class- they were the featured class in Chapel this week-- they sang 2 songs in front of the rest of the children and were so cute!! Of course, Quinn is right there with her 2 best school buds-- Abby & Sage

here is a clip of my favorite-- "the world is a rainbow, so many kinds of people but when we work together, it's such a sigh to see.  the world is a mixing cup, just look what happens when you stir it up!"

spring beach trip

shew, what a quick but fun beach trip that was!

During our last beach trip in the fall, Margaret and I decided that we would give the Seaside Half Marathon a shot this year.  It sounded like such a great idea, as we lounged on the beach, she was just getting into running and I was just getting back into it.  We both worked very hard and I'm so proud of how great we did!  I ran it in just over 2 hrs (2:02:09) and was very happy with that time!

I barely got my camera out this trip, but here are the few pics I did take, along with a few borrowed from Margaret ;)

what a great group of kids we have and I can't get past little William-- how fun it is to see someone with as much energy as our Quinny-Quinn.  He sure did give her a run for her money and it was pretty cute to see.  here we are on our first full day, checking out the beach at Sister's condo and realizing how very cold it was going to be during our trip!

this was pre-race and we were FROZEN solid!
post-race, everyone was ready to go home and get warmed up but we managed to get the little ones together for a shot of their cute "run mommy run" tshirts.  when we ordered them, I had no clue they would be buried under 2 layers of winter coats!! Margaret and I have already decided we need to run another race, if only so they kids can wear their shirts again ;)

Here we are on our last day-- it finally warmed up some and we headed over to Sandestin to meet the Verdigets for lunch and some play time

Tara & I use to think it was a challenge getting 2 girls to smile at the same time!

check out this crew

I can remember a picture of these two when they could barely sit up!
oh, how these girls love to run!

she is growing so fast, I can hardly stand it! and just check out these shoes.  she refuses to wear anything but these.  we even bought a new version of the same shoe but she HAS to wear the "old sparklies"

afternoon treat

one tired family

Thanks Nana Kat for having us!!

and thanks Doggies for playing with us!!

catch-up

wow, I can't believe that I haven't posted anything since Christmas!  Here is a quick update, mostly through iphone pics, of what we have been up to..

someone was thrilled to get their very first pair of goggles.  she takes them everywhere!
we started swim lessons

we have come so far since this picture! Kathryn has been fearless the entire time-- she goes under, blows bubbles, does everything Miss Rachel asks of her, no questions asked... Quinn spent much of the first two classes trying to negotiate her way into keeping her head above water :) but it continues to amaze me at how much she improves from class to class-- so proud of my little mermaids!!

here we are at parent watch day for Quinn's dance class

she had to dress the part, Quinn's cheerleader for the day!  Kathryn carries this tutu everywhere and usually refuses to wear anything but this one.. even though it is definitely too small for this belly!
Quinn is doing such a good job in dance this year-- I think she has hit the same slump as last year at this time,  just seems a little bored with it...so we will see if we continue next year, but for now we are anxiously awaiting the big recital!
Valentine's day at Kathryn's Dance class.  We just love Miss Pam!!

Kathryn adores dance class-- she is so happy there and seems to forget just how very shy she can be.  It is not unusual for her to get worked up on a Tuesday when she learns it is Quinn's dance class day and that she has to wait until Thursday for her class
here we are at the circus-- what a fun outing!!

Quinn was so proud to get her very own library card!

and last but certainly not least, just after Christmas, Kathryn graduated to a BIG GIRL BED!! she is so excited and loves her pink rails ;)

and here is a cute little clip of how Kathryn spent her first few naps in her big girl bed-- video monitors can be so fun ;)
