what a busy spring we have had!! here are some of the things we have been up to
mom's moments with Kathryn's class
"i love mom & she loves me" song
mom's moments at Quinn's class.. and the start to allergy season ;( thankfully, it hasn't been as bad this year. fingers crossed it keeps up this way!
Quinn's spring sing
here is a youtube clip of their songs
Quinn's class had caterpillars this year, they got to see them turn into the cocoons and then BEAUTIFUL butterflies!! and right after spring sing, they let the butterflies fly free. What a sweet way to mark the end of the school year!
here we are on spring break
just being silly
you'll never guess where they got these cute little shirts
more spring break fun
putting school with teacher daddy
kathryn's "unbirthday" blessing
here we are on a mother's day weekend, girls' day adventure at Scottsdale farms
we ran into Sage while we were there ;)
very last week of school, Kathryn decided she LOVES the swings
last day of school, Quinn with Miss Charmie
Quinn with Miss Jenny
Kathryn with Miss Cheryl
Kathryn with Miss Rupa
had to take a picture of these sweet girls, they insisted on walking out of class to the cars, hand in hand, just about every day this school year! so sad we won't be in class together next year but excited we have all summer to play!!
what a GREAT school year we had! Even now, looking back at the pictures of the girls with their teachers, I get a little misty thinking about how blessed we are to belong to such a great school-- with sweet, loving teachers & friends ;) but now, it is just about time for summer!! next up-- Kathryn's gymnastics "graduation" & dance recitals, and then we are home-free for lots of play & summer fun!!
here are some of our Easter Pictures! It was a rainy day, but that didn't stop us from having lots of fun! We woke up to an egg hunt and Easter treats thanks to the Easter Bunny, headed off to church and after a nice rest, we headed out for some more Easter fun
no joke-- this is how we woke up Easter morning, I think someone is still in the wrong season here!
on our way to church
the Easter bunny showed up for the egg hunt!!
the girls were in 2 different age groups for the egg hunt. Kathryn was so cute, she kept stopping to smile & wave at the Easter Bunny
Quinn was so excited that the big kids got to "go into the woods" to look for the eggs. She's not big on posing for pictures these days, so I really have to chase after her, or just take them when she's not looking ;)
Kathryn was SO excited to see the animals!
and top it all off with make-your-own sundaes!!
shew, what a day!! here we are, bellies extra full, getting ready for bed with their "sparkly bunny" PJs ;)
I haven't updated this blog in so long!! here I go, I'll give you a quick update!
The Mommies were invited to go to Kathryn's music class to watch them sing :) how cute these little 2-yr olds are!! She is sitting right next to Ella, who was in gymnastics with Kathryn earlier this year.
Kathryn is SO shy at school! She participates, but VERY quietly, so funny because she isn't like that at home!
Kathryn was Preschool Student of the Week, she was so proud!
and we had a little trip to emergency med-- apparently, Kathryn had something called Nurse Maid's Elbow-- never heard of it until now but she had to have her elbow popped back into the socket-- poor baby! it was painful but nothing a pink popsicle couldn't fix. she spent the next few days trying to convince me she needed to go back..
here she is, recovered. in her bathing suit tutu having fun "waiting for the tornado".
a little spring shopping
so glad I was able to take this-- such silly gooses. trying to convince me they could fit to sleep in the same bed
and I had my 25th ;) birthday this year-- happy birthday to mommy! we celebrated with giant cupcakes and lots of fun!
here is Quinn's class- they were the featured class in Chapel this week-- they sang 2 songs in front of the rest of the children and were so cute!! Of course, Quinn is right there with her 2 best school buds-- Abby & Sage
here is a clip of my favorite-- "the world is a rainbow, so many kinds of people but when we work together, it's such a sigh to see. the world is a mixing cup, just look what happens when you stir it up!"
During our last beach trip in the fall, Margaret and I decided that we would give the Seaside Half Marathon a shot this year. It sounded like such a great idea, as we lounged on the beach, she was just getting into running and I was just getting back into it. We both worked very hard and I'm so proud of how great we did! I ran it in just over 2 hrs (2:02:09) and was very happy with that time!
I barely got my camera out this trip, but here are the few pics I did take, along with a few borrowed from Margaret ;)
what a great group of kids we have and I can't get past little William-- how fun it is to see someone with as much energy as our Quinny-Quinn. He sure did give her a run for her money and it was pretty cute to see. here we are on our first full day, checking out the beach at Sister's condo and realizing how very cold it was going to be during our trip!
this was pre-race and we were FROZEN solid!
post-race, everyone was ready to go home and get warmed up but we managed to get the little ones together for a shot of their cute "run mommy run" tshirts. when we ordered them, I had no clue they would be buried under 2 layers of winter coats!! Margaret and I have already decided we need to run another race, if only so they kids can wear their shirts again ;)
Here we are on our last day-- it finally warmed up some and we headed over to Sandestin to meet the Verdigets for lunch and some play time
Tara & I use to think it was a challenge getting 2 girls to smile at the same time!
check out this crew
I can remember a picture of these two when they could barely sit up!
oh, how these girls love to run!
she is growing so fast, I can hardly stand it! and just check out these shoes. she refuses to wear anything but these. we even bought a new version of the same shoe but she HAS to wear the "old sparklies"
