We just recently went to Alabama to celebrate Christmas with the Driskells. Kelly & Ryan so graciously hosted the entire group (except Poppy & Eliza who ended up coming down with Croup and was in no condition to travel :( so that amounted to 9 kids, 7 adults, and 4 dogs!! What fun and the weekend was just perfect, minus Eliza and Poppy. Here are some of the pictures..
Mary Fran is so great with the little ones these days. She dressed up Quinn, did the girls' nails, and even taught a little arts and crafts lesson
Kathryn could have chased the doggies around all day
the weather was perfect-- the kids played outside all day
here's the kids table. they've got my number now-- here they are all trying their hardest not to look at the camera. Except Mal, she smiles anytime I ask her to ;)
We are barely into December but we are well into the Christmas season at our house! Here are some of the things we have been up to...
can you believe Santa was at the girls' dance school??!
Quinn has been asking all about Santa's reindeer this year, so when I heard they were making an appearance at a local toy store, we just HAD to go and check them out. Quinn, of course, used the opportunity to get a few extra words in with the "big guy"
her first candy cane of the year, she was thrilled ;)
yet another event for our social butterfly! Here we are getting ready for our date to see the Nutcracker. KK is still too young to sit through the whole thing, but she had a wonderful morning at home with Daddy
I just love taking Quinn to see this show. It is so sweet to see her eyes light up with amazement and awe of the performers... these are girls that she sees at dance school every week but on show day, they are superstars to Quinn
Miss Mary (Quinn's dance teacher) is in the Nutcracker, so she met some of the younger girls before the show & gave them a very special backstage tour & even introduced them to some of the dancers!
Quinn was thrilled when we ran into Ellie (they danced together for two years and are in different classes this year)
her Nutcracker for this year
here we are at Tara's house for our annual "friends Christmas".. actually in Tara's neighbor's back yard, but they didn't seem to mind ;) We hadn't had a family picture in a while, so Tara graciously took a few for us
Nana sent us a care package with more sprinkles than we knew what to do with... Quinn decided she wanted her two best friends from her class to come over and help us with some cookie decorating so that is just what we did!
of course Kathryn got in on the fun too!
here Quinn is showing Abby & Sage her video email from Santa, who knew he was so into technology?!
and here we are at the brunch with Santa at the girls' school
there's just something about that Riley ;)
with Ellie & Riley
more Santa time
waffle house sponsored, so we couldn't leave without the hats
so merry early Christmas!! And we have lots more to come... later this week we are headed off to Alabama to celebrate The Driskell Family Christmas and when we return, we have lots of special visitors headed our way!!
Happy Thanksgiving!! We had so much fun celebrating all that we are so very thankful for.
First off, here are a couple of pictures from Quinn's feast at school. She was soo excited for the feast and volunteered us to bring a pumpkin pie before I could even look up a recipe to see if I could attempt one! I was super-excited that the Mommies were invited, I love a good school function ;)
Yep, that's the pie Quinn & I made-- we were quite proud of it, and it was delicious!!
Next up is a video of the kids singing to the Mommies at the end of class. So precious!
And how sweet is this Thanksgiving card??!
Here are the girls practicing their blessings
And here we are just before?? I'm loosing track of time...but sometime around Thanksgiving at the 3's singalong at the Northbrook book fair. It was pretty cute-- this song is from the first round, about twice the number of kids were in the second round so it was much easier to video them the first time around. It was really just for the 3's classes, but the teachers were sweet enough to let Kathryn join in on the fun;)
And on Thanksgiving we went to visit Juan & Bethany at the Perez's for a delicious Thanksgiving feast!! I didn't bring my camera, but here are some fuzzy iphone pictures to help remember the day
