An early Christmas...

Dean, Quinn, & I are thrilled to announce that come August, we will be expecting a new addition to our family!! We are 8 weeks and 1 day pregnant; we went for our first ultrasound this morning & everything looked to be perfect.

We just got home from Christmas with the Driskells! Brian and Poppy were gracious enough to host us all at their home in Franklin and everything was wonderful!

We went to see Santa and Quinn did great. She was a little confused at first, but did not cry-- I think a few more minutes with Santa and she would have been laughing with him!

Thankful

The night after Thanksgiving our PopPop passed away. Pop was an amazing man and we are all so blessed to have had him in our lives. Pop was 85 years old when he passed, he was married to MomMom for 62 years.

When we were little, Pop would meet the school bus at our house and take us back to his & MomMoms until Mom came home from work. Pop would mostly sit and read in "his seat" while Laur & I tormented him: taking his seat, eating his chocolate, and talking his ear off. Pop read more than anyone I knew-- the librarians loved him and would call him every time a new book came in (although it didn't hurt that hi bribed them with chocolate ;)

As we got older Pop started driving us to school when I was too cool to ride the bus. After several times of us not being ready in time, he brought over an orange bell. He came over early enough to give us time to get ready, ringing the bell as a warning when he would come in.

When my parents moved to Tulsa, it was MomMom & Pops house that I would stay at when I would go "home" to see family & my highschool friends.

A few years back Pop had a stroke and he really slowed down-- but he hung in there. He could no longer bowl like he use to. Pop was a great bowler, he was always in the local papers for winning tournaments, I thought for sure he was famous. And sometimes, when we stayed home sick from school, we got to go to the bowling ally with him. To help, MomMom set up a miniature bowling ally in their house. This is the kind of relationship they had. They enjoyed each other's company until the end. They took daily walks in the park, weekly trips to Arbys, they even made the grocery store an outing.

I am glad and beyond thankful that Dean was able to meet and spend time with Pop after we were engaged. Pop was able to make it to our wedding, he saw me pregnant, and met and spent time with his first great grandchild, Quinn.

We love you Pop and I am so thankful for you!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We had such a FUN Thanksgiving. We were back in Selma at Sister's house (we took last year off). Dean and I have decided that Sister is truly a saint for hosting all of us year after year. 35 people total, most of which were children and lots of YUMMY food!! Here are some pictures:

Also- unfortunately little Maggie was sick the weekend before Thanksgiving, so her party was moved to Thanksgiving-- we were sorry that Maggie had to feel sick, but happy we got to see her eat her birthday cake ;)

What a great weekend and we were so THANKFUL to be there!!
